BRPD arrests 1 after finding over 2 pounds of marijuana, fentanyl and reported stolen gun
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a traffic crash on Sunday, Aug. 24.

An investigation of a vehicle at the scene led to the arrest of one person and seizure of more than two pounds of marijuana.

Devante Pugh was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a legend drug, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of schedule II.

The crash happened at Highland Road and Lorri Burgess Avenue. While at the scene, BRPD said officers noticed a vehicle with a dark-tinted windshield.

A stop was initiated, and the smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. A search was performed, and along with the marijuana, BRPD found 1.5 grams of fentanyl, 12 16-ounce bottles of promethazine, and a gun that was reported stolen.
