Deputies wrote on Facebook that they had been dispatched to the area of Trinity Road in Laurel County, seven miles south of London, in response to a domestic complaint.
When law enforcement officials arrived, the door of the residence was open, and the inside was “in a state of disarray.” A large amount of blood was seen outside, and in the residence, blood was reportedly found on the floor and couch of the living room, per the sheriff’s office.
After seeing the blood, deputies wrote that they found 34-year-old Steven R. Farris and an “extremely bloodied” woman in the bedroom. She had “nearly all of her teeth” knocked out and multiple cuts on her head.
Authorities wrote on Facebook that Farris allegedly beat the victim with his fists. She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Farris was charged with first-degree assault— domestic violence and lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center on a $75,000 cash bond. He is due in court at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
The domestic assault investigation remains ongoing.
