College football is less than a day away from kicking off with ‘Farmageddon’ on an international stage.
The No. 17 Wildcats will face No. 22 Iowa State at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, in what marks the first-ever top 25 matchup played overseas.
Head coach Chris Klieman says the trip has been a unique opportunity for his program, but the focus remains squarely on opening Big 12 play.
“It’s a fanatastic opportunity for both teams to represent the conference and kick off the season with all eyes on us,” Klieman said. “We’re focused on the game but hope our players take away a great experience 10, 15, 20 years down the line.”
For both K-State and Iowa State, the stakes are high.
Saturday’s meeting will not only add another chapter to the ‘Farmageddon’ rivalry, but also help shape the early Big 12 race.
Kickoff between the Wildcats and Cyclones is set for Saturday at 5:00 p.m. IST (11:00 a.m. CDT) as thousands of fans from both schools get set to experience college football in Ireland.
