FNF: Two-point conversion lifts Bonnabel to scrimmage win over Country Day

METAIRIE, La. — It didn’t count, but Bonnabel’s 8-7 scrimmage victory over Country Day Thursday night was a big win for first-year head coach Andre Anthony and the Bruins football program.

A pick-six from Country Day’s George Blessey would give the Cajuns a 7-0 lead late in the 12-minute live period.

Bonnabel would respond with less a minute to play.

Karl Perkins would connect with Co’ryon Hollins on a 15-yard touchdown strike that pulled Bonnabel within one.

The Bruins would elect to go for two, and Perkins threw a beautiful jump ball to Elijah Martin, who would make the game-winning reception.

You can catch more highlights from this scrimmage and much more this Friday night at 11 p.m. at Nola 38 the CW. The 30-minute show will replay at midnight on WGNO.

Bonnabel is back in action, jamboree week. The Bruins will face Jefferson Rise next Friday night at Joe Yenni Stadium.

Country Day’s jamboree bout will take place at Archbishop Hannan next Friday.
