With WGNO’s NOLA Pool Passport, we are taking you to six local, luxury pools for just $64, which is basically $10 a pool, which is a great deal.
For today’s stop, our Pool Boy, Kenny Lopez found out that Lost Coyote is a howling good time.
We found a pool that is definitely the G.O.A.T., especially with their pet goat, Rosita.
“Come wander with us,” Jessica Rann, Co-owner of Lost Coyote said.
“We are a little gem in the heart of Treme. It’s really special to us to be able to have a neighborhood spot, where everyone’s included. It is like hanging out in your own backyard. Our pool is 20 by 40 feet. We’ve got some beautiful fountains that cascade into the pool, and it keeps a little of the outside noise outside.”
The pool also has a mermaid deck.
“This is a fun place for our guests to relax and get a little sun as well,” Rann said.
“We have some fun pool toys. People can come play with,” she said.
Lost Coyote offers poolside yoga every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
In addition to the pool, Lost Coyote is also a restaurant.
“We have our passionfruit beignets which became a popular item here. It was my mom’s idea because she wanted a beignet one day. The dish is four, beautiful, nice, crisp beignets topped with a cognac glaze. Our cajun corn dog is our second popular dish here. It really comes from our crawfish boil season. We decided we wanted to wrap then in our cornbread muffin batter,” Rann said.
Now to the reason Lost Coyote has a pet goat on property.
“When we did take over the property it was a Mexican restaurant. The goat named Rosita really did come with the property. She was part of the lease. The owner’s daughter found out from the Mexican restaurant that the goat could be dinner, she decided she wasn’t o.k. with it, so that’s why she was part of the property when we bought it. Rosita will never be on the menu at Lost Coyote,” Rann said.
“Everyone who goes to feed her snacks is here new best friend,” she said.
“Our pool has become somewhere people can join together and be a part of our pack here,” she said.
“Come to Lost Coyote, our restaurant and pool, and come join our pack,” she said.
Lost Coyote is located at 1614 Esplanade Ave.
Lost Coyote will host a poolside comedy show next Friday at their pool. For more information.
