
A Minneapolis man is facing 2nd degree murder charges in connection to a shooting outside a St. Paul bar.
Metro Transit Police responded to the sound of gunfire just after midnight on August 7 near the Midway Saloon on University Avenue in St. Paul. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics took him to the hospital where he later died.

Officers arrested Davarius Clark, 29, who works as a bouncer the bar.
According to the criminal complaint, the bar manager told police that Clark argued with the victim because the victim brought his bike inside the bar. Despite the manager’s approval, Clark continued to antagonize the victim and saw the two arguing back and forth.
Another employee told police Clark got into a verbal altercation with a man inside the bar who was being disrespectful. Clark told the employee the man had spat on him three times. The employee heard a “pop” after Clark went outside the bar.
Police say Clark had a gun in his waistband when they arrived on the scene.
Prosecutors have charged Clark with two counts of 2nd degree murder.
This was St. Paul’s seventh homicide of the year.
