The new gas station’s location also supports the state’s climate goals to target carbon neutrality, according to officials.
Love’s newest compressed natural gas station (CNG) opened on Thursday, located off the Highway 99 corridor in Fresno, at 4645 S. Chestnut Ave., which officials say is a prime “highway location in the distribution district.”
“This self-serving fueling facility gives our CNG fleet customers the ability to fuel on their schedule, competitive pricing, easy maneuvering for larger vehicles, and comprehensive reporting on fuel consumption. In addition, the location supports California’s climate goals to target carbon neutrality,” said Ryan Erickson, vice president of Love’s Alternative Energy.
The station offers six high-speed dispensers, CNG only. It is also considered a “cardlock,” meaning that customers must have an approved card to make fuel purchases. The station does not have professional driver amenities, but it is accessible 24/7, with a layout designed for larger commercial vehicles.
According to Love’s’ website, “Natural gas vehicles fueled with CNG help fleets save money, reduce maintenance costs and improve environmental performance.” The US Department of Energy states there are more than 175,000 natural gas-powered vehicles in the United States – Fresno’s trolley, FresnoHOP, is part of that group.
This new station joins the other 105 Love’s GNC stations in the United States and Canada.
