73rd person charged in Feeding Our Future scheme

Another person has been charged in the massive Feeding Our Future fraud scheme.

Hussein Mohamed Farah was charged with one count of wire fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota Joseph Thompson.

Farah, the executive director for the St. Paul nonprofit New Vision Foundation, used the organization to operate two supposed food distribution sites under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future.

He reportedly submitted false meal count sheets and attendance rosters to support New Vision’s claims.

In total, New Vision received about $2.7 million for meals supposedly served to children between February 2021 and January 2022.

Earlier this year, the New Vision Foundation was searched by federal investigators in connection with the alleged fraud.
