1 dead following a 2-vehicle crash in Hymera

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person is dead following a two-vehicle accident that happened in Hymera on Saturday night.

According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to the report of an accident with injuries near the intersection of Jackson and Oak Street.

One individual was extricated from the vehicle and later transported to a local hospital. The driver later passed away.

The other involved driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No names have been released at this time.

A crash reconstruction team was called to the scene. Indiana State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Thunderbird Fire, Hymera Fire, SCAT, and Farmersburg Police assisted in the incident.

The crash remains under investigation and is being led by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
