Firefighters respond to deck fire in West Haven
WEST HAVEN, Utah (ABC4) — Weber Fire District crews worked to put out a deck fire at a home in West Haven late Saturday morning.

According to the Weber Fire District, firefighters received a call of a reported structure fire at the home around 11:45 a.m. Additional crews from Hill Air Force Base and Roy City Fire were requested but were later canceled.

Firefighters from Weber Fire arrived to find heavy black smoke, and found that the mulch-covered ground and deck area were on fire. Fire crews were able to start a fast attack, deploying multiple lines to fight the fire.

Weber Fire said they were able to bring it under control quickly and were able to keep the fire from spreading into the home. Crews later did a search of the structure and found it to be all clear.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but preliminary findings show the fire started in an area of rubber mulch.
