BRG Way, formerly known as Midway Drive, was renamed to reference Baton Rouge General Hospital’s contribution to the road project with a land dedication. The project constructed a two-lane road from Picardy Avenue to Constantin Boulevard.
“This project represents the kind of forward-thinking, community-centered investment that I pledged to support when I took office,” said Mayor-President Sid Edwards. “Thanks to the generosity of Baton Rouge General and the commitment of our MOVEBR team, BRG Way has enhanced connectivity, improved safety, and supported the continued growth of our medical corridor.”
Construction with engineering consultant Stantec and contractor Boone Services included improvements for pedestrians, a connection between medical and commercial areas and developed traffic flow improvements.
The mayor’s office said work on BRG Way improved access while aligning with MOVEBR goals of a safer, more connected city.
