Overnight crash kills one on I-10 east near Read Boulevard

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened Sunday night, July 27.

Around 9:35 p.m., NOPD officers were called to the scene at Interstate 10 and Read Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers found the two vehicle crash in the east bound lanes and learned that one person was declared dead on the scene.

No further details are available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
