Free youth workshop on navigating online hazards safely
CADDO PARISH (KTAL/KMSS) – The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a “Behind the Screen” workshop designed to help prevent youth in hazardous online environment.

By equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the increasingly complex virtual spaces, the workshop hopes to educate young people about the risks associated with online interactions, particularly when engaging with strangers.

The education will also cover the evolving threats posed by AI-powered scams and preventing identity theft. 

The curriculum is set to cover these key areas: 

  • Understanding Online Strangers 
  • Safe Online Interaction Strategies 
  • Protecting Personal Information and Preventing Identity Theft 
  • Identifying and Avoiding Fraudulent Schemes 

The workshop will take place on July 25 at Sheriff’s Safety Town, located at 8910 Jewella Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

The workshop is free, but seating is limited to the first 30 participants. Pre-registration is required.
