Illegal immigrant from Indiana arrested in North Carolina for child molestation charges: FBI

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 19-year-old from Indiana was arrested in North Carolina for multiple crimes involving rape and child molestation, according to FBI Charlotte.

Officials said Marvin Jose Vasquez-Martinez, 19, was arrested on Wednesday, July 16, in Iredell County by law enforcement with FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Secret Service and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Vasquez-Martinez is a Honduran who was reportedly in the United States unlawfully. His arrest was made in coordination with FBI Indianapolis, which utilized technical surveillance methods to help find him.

Vasquez-Martinez was wanted in Hendricks County, Indiana, on felony charges of rape and child molestation. He allegedly fled the area around May 2025. According to the FBI, he has previous arrests for auto theft, resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana.

Arrest records show he is currently booked in the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office under a $1 million bond while he waits extradition to Indiana.
