16-year-old charged with murder of 18-year-old in northeast Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 16-year-old has been charged for the murder of an 18-year-old boy in northeast Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Friday, the 16-year-old was arrested and interviewed by homicide detectives. Shortly after, they were taken to the Stonewall Jackson Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The suspect is accused of shooting and killing 18-year-old Daeveon Roseboro around 11:30 p.m. on June 11.

Officers responded to the shooting on the 11000 block of Hyde Pointe Court, where they found Roseboro suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

CMPD says Roseboro’s next of kin has been notified of the arrest.
