The heat will continue Monday with highs once again reaching the mid 90s during the afternoon hours as high pressure settles in. Feels-like temperatures will be around 105 degrees. Make sure to drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen! A storm or two will be possible during the afternoon hours, but rain chances will remain very low.
In the tropics, we are monitoring an area in the Atlantic that has a very low chance of development as it heads westward to the Caribbean. It likely won’t develop for the next few days, but there will be a chance down the road, so we will continue to monitor it. Elsewhere, we will watch the Gulf late week as a disturbance makes its way westward. Right now, tropical development is not expected, but it will bring increased rain chances to the area.
Locally, the heat is on through midweek as high pressure remains hard to move. This will lead to low rain chances and temperatures in the mid 90s with feels-like temperatures around 105. By the end of the week, our rain chances will increase as a disturbance moves west just off the coast. This could bring heavier rain at times, but also will help bring daytimes highs down to near 90 degrees.
