Man dies after being assaulted in Kingsburg, suspect sought

KINGSBURG, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man has died after being assaulted Friday night and authorities continue to look for the suspect in the homicide investigation, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says.

Kingsburg police were called to 7th Avenue and Nevada Street for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon around 10:30 p.m.

Officers say they found a man suffering from obvious signs of trauma when they arrived.

The victim died at an area hospital after being transported from the scene.

At that point, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office was called in to take over the investigation and says it is currently exploring all leads.

The victim’s name has yet to be released pending notification of next of kin.
