Police identify man killed in Baton Rouge shooting Wednesday morning
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after an early morning shooting left a man dead.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office and BRPD responded to the 5300 block of Bank Street around 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16.

While investigating, police learned that someone fired multiple shots into a home.

Eddie Johnson, 41, was shot and died from his injuries, authorities confirmed.

Baton Rouge Police Department units and officers were present, with police tape marking off the area.

A possible suspect or motive is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
