Dequincy Thibodeaux, 44, and Therin Thibodeaux, 19, are each charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of Adderall, two counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs, possession of a unregistered or illegally transferred weapon and possession of drugs in a Drug Free Zone.
Dequincy Thibodeaux is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A third resident of the home, Vindezz Thibodeaux, 25, is wanted on similar charges, and is still at large. He is currently on parole after being convicted of attempted second degree murder, possession of a Schedule II narcotic, possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.
Authorities said the arrests were the result of a lengthy narcotics investigation that resulted in the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office securing a search warrant for a home in the 800 block of Pine Street in Mamou.
EPSO Narcotic Units and Allen Parish SWAT Team executed the search warrant July 9, officials said. Upon making entry into the residence, the Narcotics/SWAT Team made contact with Dequincy Thibodeaux and a man who ran from agents, attempted to discard a Glock pistol by trying to flush it down the toilet, who was identified as Therin Thibodeaux.
A search of the house yielded large quantities of marijuana, synthetic marijuana, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs, authorities said.
The gun retieved from the toilet had a “Glock Switch,” which converts the firearm to a fully automatic weapon, authorities said. Another gun, a Taurus G3C 9mm, was found in a shoe box with a loaded magazine containing 12 bullets, along with one bullet within the chamber.
Dequincy Thibodeaux and Therin Thibodeaux are being held in the Evangeline Parish Jail on $50,000 bond each. Vindezz Thibodeaux is still at large.
