FIRE WATCH: Broad fire reached 95 acres, forward progress stopped
TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — The Broad Fire, which started on Wednesday near Grantsville, Utah, reached 95 acres, but is no longer progressing forward.

Initially, Utah Fire Info announced that a new fire started in Tooele County, approximately 3 miles northwest of Grantsville on Wednesday afternoon. The fire, named the Broad Fire, was spreading through tall grass and was visible from both Highway 138 and I-80.

Fortunately, firefighters have stopped forward progress, as of Thursday morning. Utah Fire Info reported that crews will continue securing the Fireline.

North Tooele Fire District said that multiple brush engines, firefighters from Grantsville Fire, Utah Department of Natural Resources, and the Bureau of Land Management in Utah all responded to the Broad Fire.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and is still under investigation.
