Dan + Days To Launch Music Festival in Upper Montclair This September

Dan + Days will host its first music festival on Sept. 26. The burger and shake shop sits in Montclair, where owners Dan and Dayanna Campeas announced the event on May 18. They want it to grow and match the Montclair Jazz Festival, which pulled in an estimated 30,000 people downtown in 2025.

“Our motivation has always been to bring more business and attention to uptown because we feel like downtown gets all the love,” the owners told The Montclair Girl on May 19. “Especially with live music.”

The team shared their plans on social media, writing, “We’re sick of downtown getting all the live music…” Details about performers and ticket sales are still being worked out.

Dan grew up in Montclair. He spent a lot of his time in Upper Montclair with friends. In 2014, he opened a burger shop called Stuffed Grass, which has since closed, but he wanted to move to the upper part of town.

In 2021, he met Dayanna, who came from Ecuador and joined the Stuffed team. The two clicked. They worked well in business and romance. They took over the shop before getting married in 2022.

The couple spent years planning and hunting for a spot to open a new restaurant. They decided to rebrand under their own names to show their connection to the area. Dan + Days opened in 2024.

The husband-and-wife team announced plans in November 2025 to launch Farmhouse Fried Chicken at 223 Bellevue Ave. The opening date hasn’t been set.

“It’ll be an elevated fried chicken concept which focuses on sandwiches but will also have ‘bone-in’ fried chicken as well,” Dan and Dayanna told The Montclair Girl in 2025.

The festival will take place in Upper Montclair this fall. More information about the event will be shared as plans are finalized.
