ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A tractor trailer that was hauling scrap overturned in the Pearl River area of St. Tammany Parish on Wednesday, July 9. The incident also involved a passenger vehicle.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection District No. 11, the semi-truck overturned on Highway 1090 near Nelson Road around 10:30 a.m. Officials say that the driver of the passenger vehicle involved in the incident was extricated and brought to a hospital on the Northshore for evaluation.
A-1 Wrecker Pearl River was reported to be on-scene to remove the wreckage, and the Pearl River Police Department was reportedly keeping traffic flow away from the scene.

Officials say Highway 1090 is completely closed near Nelson Road between Jubilee Foods and the traffic circle. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
