Shocking video shows mass shooting in Grays Ferry

(WPHL) — Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video showing the disturbing mass shooting that took place in Grays Ferry on Monday.

This comes after gunfire sprayed the 1500 block of Etting Street in Grays Ferry at 1 a.m. on Monday and left three people dead and 10 injured.

The video footage, which was caught on a nearby Ring camera, is now being used as part of the police investigation to figure out what happened.

At the time of the shooting, officers who were patrolling the neighborhood heard a barrage of gunfire and rushed to the area to see a crowd of people running away and inside their homes.

Police said 8 people were rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and others were transported by neighbors, family, and friends.

The victims are:

  • Victim #1: A 23-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.  He was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m.
  • Victim #2: A 19-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the head.  He was pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m.
  • Victim #3: A 24-year-old male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the back.  He was pronounced dead at 2:16 a.m.
  • Victim #4:  A 21-year-old male sustained gunshot wounds to the buttocks and ankle.
  • Victim #5:  A 17-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm.
  • Victim #6:  A 24-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm.
  • Victim #7:  A 19-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm.
  • Victim #8:  A 23-year-old female sustained gunshot wounds to the left elbow, left thigh, and right calf.
  • Victim #9:  A 15-year-old female,  unknown where she was shot at this time.
  • Victim #10:  A 17-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm.
  • Victim #11: An 18-year-old male, unknown where he was shot at this time. 
  • Victim #12:  A 19-year-old male sustained two gunshot wounds to the head. He was transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, then transported by ambulance to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition. 
  • Victim #13: There was another victim who went to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, who was not shot, only injured from falling to the ground while running away. 

At the scene, 139 casings were found.

While police have multiple people in custody involved in the shooting, Commissioner Kevin Bethel said they are still searching for several other suspects.
