BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man is dead and another driver was critically injured following a head-on collision on I-110 early Saturday morning.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the crash happened around 3:17 a.m. on July 5 in the 700 block of South I-110. Police said a 2004 Jaguar X-Type, driven by Michael Young, 54, was traveling north in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 2021 Dodge Ram.
Young, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram, Darrell Batiste, 32, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Detectives are waiting for toxicology results from both drivers. This is a developing story.
