“It’s a celebration of all of our accomplishments throughout the year, and it also intertwines with our freedom we celebrate here on July 4th,” said City of St. Gabriel Mayor Lionel Johnson.
The city’s Fourth of July festivities included everything from tailgate cookouts to live performances, offering more than just entertainment.
“We are a solid community. We love each other, and we fellowship with each other. Of course, we have our issues, but we are a community that likes to celebrate each other, cheer for each other, and support each other,” Johnson said.
A special leadership brunch was held to set the tone for the celebration and highlight the city’s continued growth and development.
“And also, I hope the people who are here will continue to tell the message of all the great things going on in St. Gabriel. I mean, we’ve got residential development, we’ve got retail development, we’ve got culture; we’ve got all these great things going on in St. Gabriel, and we just want people to know St. Gabriel’s here,” Johnson added.
