HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. — A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Howard County Friday night.

According to a press release, Howard County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of County Roads 600 East and 100 South around 10:53 p.m. to investigate a crash. When police arrived at the scene, they found a white 2019 Jeep Compass and 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been involved in a rollover crash.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that both vehicles were flipped during the crash, and multiple individuals were trapped in the cars involved.

Medics ultimately pronounced one of the victims involved in the crash dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office identified the decedent as 59-year-old Angela Dawn Murdock of Kokomo. Murdock was a passenger in the Compass.

During their investigation, police determined the driver of the Compass was travelling westbound on County Road 100 South before the crash happened. As the driver of the Compass was moving westbound, the motorist in the Grand Cherokee was driving southbound on County Road 600 East.

The crash happened when the driver of the Grand Cherokee failed to stop at the intersection of County Roads 100 South and 600 East. After failing to stop, the Grand Cherokee’s driver struck the Compass on its passenger side.

HCSO identified the Grand Cherokee’s driver as a 25-year-old from Kokomo. Deputies believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The sheriff’s office has not yet reported if any of the drivers involved in the crash have been arrested.

Deputies are still actively investigating the crash, and they are encouraging anyone with additional information on it to call Sergeant Chris Cramer at (765) 456-2020.
