Your firework forecast; Tropics are ramping up

Columbus, Ga (WRBL)- Heat index temperatures will be near 100 degrees for your 4th of July celebrations. A few pop-up showers will be possible in the afternoon. Temperatures will cool into the upper 80s in time for fireworks, and any showers will likely clear.

Weekend: We will continue to see chances for pop-up storms this weekend. Highs will sit in the lower 90s.

Next Week: Rain chances will slowly increase next week. Isolated storms will be possible starting Wednesday. Temperatures will stay hot as feel-like readings rise into the upper 90s.

Tracking the Tropics: We are monitoring an unorganized system off the east coast this weekend. It currently has a 60% of development through next week. Heavy rainfall will likely occur in parts of Florida and the East Coast regardless of development.
