Man charged with aggravated assault after shooting near Davis Road in LaGrange

LaGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — A man was taken into custody on Thursday after a shooting that left a person injured at the Woodland Trail Apartments.

According to the LaGrange Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot at 140 N. Davis Road.

When officers arrived they apprehended the suspect, who has been identified as Michael Ford, as he was attempting to flee the area.

Ford was taken into custody without incident, while the victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to the police department.

LaGrange PD’s Criminal Investigations Division launched an investigation and Ford is currently charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during certain felonies.

Ford was reportedly on parole for attempted murder and aggravated assault, according to LaGrange PD.
