Man seriously hurt after accidentally shooting himself at Rockville gun range

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A man was hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in a Rockville gun range Sunday, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) says officers responded at 12:10 p.m. to reports of a shooting at the Gilbert Indoor Range in the 1400 block of Rothgeb Drive.

There, a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

MCFRS says the shooting was accidental.

The shooting remains under investigation.
