54th annual Chicago Pride Parade expected to bring nearly 1 million people to Chicago’s North Side on Sunday

CHICAGO — More than 800,000 people are projected to make their way to the city’s North Side on a hot, humid Sunday for the 54th annual Chicago Pride Parade.

The theme of this year’s parade is “United in Pride,” which “highlights the power of coming together, embracing our diversity, and championing love and equality as one united force,” according to the Chicago Pride Parade website.

Dr. Maya Green and Dr. Catherine Creticos will serve as the 2025 Community Grand Marshals for this year’s Pride Parade.

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Sheridan and Broadway in Chicago’s landmark LGBTQ+ Northalsted neighborhood. It then follows this 20-block route: south on Broadway from Sheridan; then east on Belmont; then south on Broadway; then east on Diversey to Cannon Drive.

High temperatures Sunday are projected to reach the 90s, so parade organizers are reminding people to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen. Visit the WGN Weather Page for updated weather information.

There will also be temporary markers along the parade route to help people share their location in case of an emergency.

The parade will include the following spectator crossover locations: Addison and Halsted, Cornelia and Halsted, Buckingham and Halsted, Briar and Broadway, and Wellington and Broadway.
