METAIRIE, La. – The Pelicans introduced their 2025 draft class on Saturday, which includes Oklahoma point guard Jeremiah Fears, Maryland center Derik Queen and Georgetown forward Micah Peavy.
New Orleans drafted Fears seventh overall, as he led the Sooners to the NCAA Tournament and averaged 17 points per game while being the age of a high school senior since he reclassified.
Joe Dumars made a big splash on draft night, trading a 2026 unprotected first-round pick to move up from No. 23 to No. 13 to select Maryland center Derik Queen. He averaged 16.5 points and 9 rebounds per game for the Terrapins this season.
The third and final pick was Georgetown forward Micah Peavy, who went 40th. He was First Team All-Big East this year for the Hoyas and averaged 17 points, six rebounds and three assists per contest.
