Free food, music, and more at Natchitoches' Juneteenth Festival

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The City of Natchitoches announced its fourth annual Juneteenth Festival headlined by zydeco musician Chris Ardoin for a day of food, music, fireworks, and more.

“Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including Future Leaders, 1st Responders, and a Celebrity Basketball Tournament. There will be a Health Fair, a 3-point contest, and dance performances,” a press release stated.

The festival will kick off with a Juneteenth Basketball Tournament on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center in Natchitoches.

At 6 p.m., the Downtown Riverbank will host entertainment from DJ Chris and live music from On Point Band and Chris Ardoin.

“The event will also feature Pop-Up Shops, a kids’ zone, food vendors, and more. The festivities
will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display. Come join us for a day filled with music, food, and fun for the whole family!” the release stated.

The fireworks show will begin at 9:45 p.m. In preparation for the show, the Church Street Bridge and Williams Avenue from Whitfield Avenue to Henry Avenue will be closed at 9:15 p.m.
