Wx Worries:  Few for a change!!

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Now that today’s showers and thunderstorms are winding down, it appears that we will gradually settle into a quieter weather pattern.  While a few scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Our weather worries will be minimal.

Severe weather & flood worries? The upper-level disturbance that has brought heavy rain to the ArkLaTex over the past few days will be moving away from our area in the coming days and will be replaced by upper-level high pressure next week. This ridge will keep our area dry and rather hot.  As of right now, SPC does not show any severe weather risk through next week.

Worry level 2: Since we do have a chance for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms during the next few days, and it’s looking doubtful that they will pose much of a risk of severe weather or flooding, I’d put my level of weather worry at 2 out of 10. WPC indicates that rainfall totals over the next week will likely be around an inch over much of the area.

Tropical Weather Worries?  The National Hurricane Center continues to show that tropical development in the Atlantic and Gulf is doubtful during the next week.  Long-range models show that the tropics could be quiet through the rest of June.
