First-team honors went to catcher Wilson Weber, outfielder Gavin Turley and left-handed pitcher Ethan Kleinschmit. On the second team is shortstop Aiva Arquette and right-handed pitcher Dax Whitney. The three first-team selections are also eligible to be named ABCA All-Americans, which will announced later in the week.
This is the second time that Turley has been selected for the first team in his time at OSU. This season, he leads the Beavers with 66 RBIs, 19 home runs — including four in the postseason –and ranks second on the team in batting average with a .346. He’s also hit 12 doubles, scored 54 runs, and has drawn 50 walks.
In his first season with the Beavs, Kleinschmit has an 8-4 record and a 3.54 ERA over 16 starts. Opponents are hitting only .195 against him.
Arquette leads the Beavers with a .354 batting average and 17 doubles. He trails only Turley in home runs (18) and RBIs (65).
This is the second award of the week for Whitney after being named a Freshman All-American by the NCBWA on Monday. The righty pitcher has a 3.66 ERA and opponents are batting .221 against him.
