RECOGNIZE THESE ITEMS? Police recover stolen construction equipment at Abilene shooting suspect's home
ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Police have recovered lots of stolen construction equipment from the home of an Abilene shooting suspect.

The property was recovered from the home of Anthony Rangel Ortega, 44, during a search warrant execution May 27.

A press release from the Abilene Police Department reveals Ortega was the suspect in a shooting that happened at a home in north Abilene, and when detectives served a search warrant at his home during the investigation, they discovered property that had been stolen from several construction sites throughout Abilene.

Detectives now believe Ortega is tied to multiple theft cases and are asking residential construction companies who suspect they may have been victimized to contact the Abilene Police Department’s Crimes Against Property Unit at (325) 676-6610.

Ortega was booked into the Taylor County Jail for Deadly Conduct and Theft. He remains held on bonds totaling $350,000 and additional charges could be pending as the investigation continues.
