LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

At the scene, troopers said Ronald Begley, 74, of London, was found lying in the roadway injured. The other vehicle’s driver, Darlene Maggard, 67, of McKee, was uninjured in the crash.

Initial investigations showed that Begley and Maggard were both driving on North Laurel Road when Maggard stopped in the roadway, causing Begley to crash into the back of the vehicle, KSP noted.

Troopers said Begley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and he was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in London, where he was declared dead.

Alcohol and drugs were not expected to be factors in the crash, KSP confirmed.

The crash is still under investigation.
