
Sauna-like conditions are in Acadiana this Memorial Day morning as temperatures are in the upper 70s along with extremely high humidity. Highs near 90° later today with a heat index into the upper 90s. Scattered showers and storms are possible after 10:00 am and throughout the afternoon. There is a low risk for severe weather.
The threat for severe weather looks a little higher on Tuesday morning. The HRRR model is showcasing a potent line of storms moving through the are from 4:00 am to 9:00 am. The setup could be more conducive for damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
A stormy pattern could last through Friday. Showers and storms are likely each day and there will be a risk for flash flooding and severe weather. Overall, much of Acadiana will receive 2″ to 5″ inches of rain or more over this 5 day period.
