SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Aquatic Park Beach in San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park will close from May 19 to May 22 between the hours 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for needed construction, the National Park Service announced Friday.
During the closure, heavy machinery will be at the beach moving 1,500 cubic yards of sand back into place.
“The sand on the beach naturally migrates eastward, and the sand’s relocation westward will help keep it from spreading onto Jefferson St, the Promenade walkway, and into Victorian Park,” NPS said.

Parking on Jefferson Street, west of Hyde Street, will be restricted during the construction.
