KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — Large hail and strong tornadoes remain possible as multiple rounds of severe weather sweep across Kentucky through Friday night.

Once the first round of storms moves out on the morning of Friday, May 16, another moves in in the evening. According to the FOX 56 Weather Authority, the longer it takes for the first wave of storms to move out, the more it could impact the strength of evening storms.

Oftentimes, strong winds and lightning strikes, like what’s expected to come with Friday’s storms, can result in power outages.

It’s looking pretty quiet on the power outage front as of 12:40 p.m. on Friday, with a little over 5,200 outages reported by PowerOutage.us.

The majority of reported outages are in Edmonson County, with 968.
