They arrive center stage and center plate.
That’s when one Louisiana school lunch lady delivers a daily feast.
It’s food for 300 as counted by WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood.
This café of a cafeteria is Ecole Bilingue De La Nouvelle-Orléans the school where everybody speaks French.
That includes their French fluent chef, Adrienne Resh.
When she’s done with lunch, she sets up a classroom in a corner of the cafeteria.
With an American mom and a dad from France, she has the mobility to move across an international menu.
That’s where Chef Adrienne gives a lesson in cooking and in life.
“When you come home, your parents are expecting a moody teenager but you come home and you’re all happy.”
“We get to learn life lessons but we also get to have fun.”
“You can also use it for survival purposes.”
Besides chocolate cake, also on the menu is:
“Understanding that if it doesn’t work out, you can always start over. One time we forgot the baking powder and we made chocolate pancakes. it happens,” said Resh.
