SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A Shreveport man has been arrested for allegedly resisting arrest and vehicle theft from the 100 block of East Kings Highway.
According to the Shreveport Police Department Property Crimes Unit, Alex Russell allegedly towed a vehicle that did not belong to him to a scrap yard and sold it for profit. The business provided documentation confirming Russell had ‘misrepresented the vehicle as his own during the transaction.’
SPD stated that during their attempt to take Russell into custody, he resisted officers, ‘but was ultimately arrested after a brief struggle at his residence in the 200 block of Boulevard Street on May 6.
Russell now faces multiple charges, including Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Felony Theft, and Resisting an Officer.
