CHRISTUS St. Michael seeks teens for summer volunteer program
TEXARKANA, Tx. (KTAL/KMSS)—CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System is now accepting applications for its summer junior volunteer program, which gives teens the opportunity to explore careers in healthcare.

“The summer junior volunteer program offers young people a valuable chance to contribute to their community while exploring careers in health care,” said Sherrie Parks, junior volunteer coordinator.

Applicants must be between 14 and 18 years old and apply by May 21. Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule interviews between May 7 and May 28. An orientation for accepted volunteers will be held on Friday, May 30.

“Junior volunteers are expected to work at least once a week for a minimum of four hours per day, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., engaging with staff, patient visitors, and other volunteers across various departments within the health system,” a press release stated.

Applications are available at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System information desk in the main hospital lobby at 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, TX.
