By rssfeeds-admin HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The city of Owensboro is temporarily renaming West 2nd Street to “BBQ Boulevard” for the duration of the BBQ and Barrels festival on May 9 and 10.
The street name change go into effect at 6 a.m. on Friday — complete with officials signs when West 2nd Street closes to vehicle traffic for the festival.
“This is such a fun way to embrace what Owensboro is known for,” said Director of Public Events Tim Ross. “Renaming one of our most iconic downtown streets to BBQ Boulevard is not only a nod to our rich barbecue tradition, but a way to build excitement and celebrate the flavor, history, and community that make BBQ & Barrels so special.”
