Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue, with southern mountain snowfall
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Monday, Utah! A pesky upper-level low continues to swirl across SW Utah, sending rounds of widespread rain and mountain snow across southern Utah Monday afternoon.

Areas of central and northern Utah will see periods of scattered downpours Monday afternoon and Monday evening. The western Uintas could also see a bit of accumulating snowfall Monday night.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will return to the forecast for Tuesday as the “Omega Block” remains in place over the region. We’re not looking at a complete washout Monday or Tuesday, but periods of rain are likely. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday afternoon will remain well below average.

Things will dry out by the middle of the week with a high-pressure ridge surging in from the west. This will lead to plenty of sunshine and a big pattern flip to well-above average temperatures. Highs will warm into the mid-80s for the Wasatch Front and climb into the low to mid-90s across SW Utah.

The latest long-range data is hinting at the potential for another period of unsettled and cooler weather for next week, but that’s pretty far out there to discuss with any more specifics.
