Current Shepard Lane overpass on I-15 to close permanently for new interchange bridge

FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC4) — The Utah Department of Transportation is set to permanently close the current Shepard Lane overpass as part of ongoing construction for the new Shepard Lane interchange.

The agency says the current overpass is scheduled to close as early as Wednesday, May 7, to build the new interchange bridge over I-15. To cross the interstate, drivers will have to detour to Burton Lane in Kaysville.

UDOT is asking drivers to plan ahead for extra travel time due to the closure and follow all traffic control instructions in the area. The new bridge is expected to be open for east/west traffic by the end of this year.
