17 students hospitalized after school bus crash in Mt. Greenwood

CHICAGO — Several high school students were hospitalized after a school bus crash involving an SUV Friday morning in Mt. Greenwood.

Police responded to the 3900 block of West 111th Street just after 7:30 a.m. on the report of a crash.

Police believe an SUV, driven by a 64-year-old man, attempted a right turn in front of the bus and the bus struck it.

Chicago police said 17 suburban high school students were transported for observation, but lists them all in fair condition as opposed to good condition.

Two drivers, the driver of the bus and the SUV, were also hospitalized in fair condition.

The driver of the SUV was cited.

It was not immediately known what school the students attend.
