1 dead, another injured in crash on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive

CHICAGO – One person has died and another person was injured in a car crash late Tuesday afternoon on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Chicago police said the crash happened just before 5 p.m. in the 2900 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive near the city’s Near South Side.

An 18-year-old man was driving a black sedan southbound on South Lakeshore Drive when he lost control and hit a tree. The man sustained injuries to his body and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, according to investigators.

Police said a female passenger was also injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information was released and Major Accident Detectives are investigating.
