Rockford police arrest man carrying loaded handgun in traffic stop

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A traffic stop in Rockford ended with the arrest of Craig Marks, 20, after officers reportedly found a loaded handgun in his possession.

Marks was arrested at 5:25 p.m. on Friday, April 25th after officers with the Rockford Police Department Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team pulled him over in the 800 block of Soper Avenue.

In addition to the handgun, police said cannabis was also found in the vehicle.

Marks was charged with two counts of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of Cannabis.

He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
