JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The woman accused of killing her boyfriend’s daughter will stand trial for murder.
On Thursday, a judge ruled Bunnak Landon is competent to stand trial in the death of six-year-old Bella Fontenelle.
In April of 2023 Landon allegedly murdered Fontenelle before leaving the girl’s body in a bucket outside the home of Fontenelle’s mother.
Landon’s trial is set to begin Monday. If convicted she faces an automatic life sentence without parole.
