Man missing for nearly a month known to frequent Chicago Lawn neighborhood
CHICAGO (WGN) — A search is underway this week for a man who officers say has been missing for nearly a month.

According to Chicago police, 44-year-old David Sopys has been missing since Friday, March 28.

The missing man was last seen in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street in Chicago Lawn, on the city’s Southwest Side.

Officers said Sopys is known to frequent the area where he was last seen in Chicago Lawn.

Sopys, who stands 5-foot-7 and weighs around 175 pounds, has brown hair and hazel eyes.

A photo provided by officers shows the missing man with a goatee and mustache, though officers said he had a handlebar mustache at the time of his disappearance.

Chicago police shared details about the ongoing search for the missing man in a news release sent out on Wednesday afternoon but did not say what he was last spotted wearing.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 44-year-old David Sopys is asked to contact the CPD Area Two SVU at 312-747-8274 or dial 911.
